The Reverend Cynthia Bacon
Pastor
The Rev. Cynthia Bacon has been serving Heritage Congregational Church as pastor and teacher since October of 2002. Pastor Cindy comes to the ministry from a twenty year background of teaching vocal music and theatre at all age levels. Prior to Heritage, she served as pastor of Congregational churches in both Burlington and Elkader, Iowa, and as Director of Christian Education at First Congregational Church in Beloit, Wisconsin. Her educational background includes a B.A. in voice and theatre with Certification to Teach from UW Whitewater (1978), a Master of Music from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana (1985) and a Master of Divinity from University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. Rev. Bacon is currently in the final year of her Doctor of Ministry studies. Other than her time spent at the church and with music and theatre, she enjoys riding her horse, sewing quilts, reading, and, of course, time spent with family and friends.
Karin Armbruster
Administrative Assistant & Coordinator of Children's Ministries

As Administrative Assistant, Karin comes to Heritage with many years of experience in customer relations. Since May of 2003, Karin has enthusiastically served the Heritage family with her welcoming attitude, organized communications and willingness to work with church volunteers in every situation. She can be reached in the church office Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Karin also serves as the Coordinator of Children's Ministries at Heritage. In this capacity she trains and organizes Sunday School teachers, plans special children's programs, offers Children's Sermons during worship and teaches when needed. Her love of God and children is apparent in all she does.
Robert Eversman
Music Director/Organist
Robert Eversman is the Director of Music and Organist at Heritage Congregational Church, Madison, WI. He has held similar positions in Illinois and Wisconsin since 1984. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Northwestern University. Recently he composed 6 Psalm settings which were included in the Psalter of Hymns for a Pilgrim People published by G.I.A. Publications, Inc. Currently, he is working toward a Certificate in Organ Performance under the direction of Dr. John Chappel Stowe at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Robert is also an accomplished violinist whose main teachers include Myron Kartman (student of Max Rostal) and Elizabeth Matesky (student of Nathan Milstein). He performs regularly during services at Heritage Congregational Church and at its annual concert series. Robert lives in Blue Mounds, WI where he also teaches music privately.
Melissa Deeter
Director - Little Pilgrims' Christian Learning Center
Melissa Deeter joined the staff at Heritage Congregational Church on July 2nd, 2007. She came to us from Rainbow’s End Christian Learning Center where she was employed for almost 11 years. While on staff at Rainbow’s End, she served as an Infant, Toddler, Two-Year Old and Preschool teacher, as well as Assistant Director. These positions gave her the experience and inspiration to take Heritage Congregational Church’s vision of starting a child care center and nurture it into Little Pilgrims’ Christian Learning Center.
Melissa joined Heritage Congregational Church in 2001 and her daughter, Madelyn, was baptized into the church family in 2005. Madelyn’s Mooma and Bumpa are active members of the church and are often seen ushering, greeting, etc. Melissa and Madelyn like to spend their free time snuggling, reading, hanging out at the mall play space, and spending time with Mooma and Bumpa. Sunday mornings, you can find the Deeter family enjoying Pastor Cindy’s inspiring messages.
Tim Rotar
Custodian
Tim and his family moved to Madison from California in 2003 after retiring from the U.S. Navy. Joining Heritage Congregational Church in 2004, Tim became our custodian less then a year later. Dan Nelson
Lawn Care
Dan has served Heritage as President of Men's Club from 1990-1995, Moderator from 1994-1995, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees from 1997-2002, Member of the Pastor's Relations Committee from 2005-2006, and as a Certified Web Author and Publisher, Dan has served as Web Master for Heritage church developing and maintaining our website since its inception in 1999.
Dan retired from teaching Technology in 2004 after 38 years with the Madison Metropolitan School District.
