Life long learning is essential to our faith journey. At Heritage Church, we believe in learning for all ages. Children are a vital and important part of our congregation, and we do all that we can to encourage their spiritual growth and participation in the community.
All children ages three through sixth grade are invited to join our Sunday School program, which meets following the Children's Sermon during our 10:30 a.m. worship hour. We use the Seasons of the Spirit Curriculum, which is very inclusive and experiential.
Occasionally, the children offer their gift of music during the worship service, and each December our children and youth present a traditional Christmas pageant.
In the Spring, the children present Youth Sunday in which they create the entire Worship Service.
Every second or third year, Heritage offers Confirmation class for those who are in grades six through eight. Taught by Pastor Cindy, the one year curriculum meets weekly, offering classes on a variety of topics including Bible, Church History, Congregationalism, the Christian Life and Church Membership.
Each student is assigned a mentor from within the Heritage Congregation. Mentors and confirmands meet at least five times during the year, learning about each other, faith and spiritual growth.
Other aspects of the curriculum include outreach activities and social outings.
Confirmands become members of Heritage Church on Pentecost Sunday.
A nursery is offered during all worship services for children under three. The nursery is located in the infant and toddler room of Little Pilgrims' Christian Learning Center.
